Aesthetic Services
Advanced cosmetic techniques now allow prosthodontists to replace or restore severely broken, cracked, or missing teeth, fill spaces between teeth, whiten and brighten smiles.

Veneers
Veneers are thin and custom made of porcelain that affix to the surface of the front teeth. They enhance the whiteness and shape of your teeth. They are fashioned to look like natural white tooth enamel.
Crowns
When the damage to the tooth is severe, a crown may be placed to protect the existing tissue, act as a tooth structure, and improve aesthetics of your smile,A crown is custom-designed made of porcelain or porcelain bonded to a gold alloy. Crowns can be made to look very natural and provide the same strength as a natural tooth.
Bonding
Bonding is an alternative to veneers. Your prosthodontist fashions a restoration from a resin without the additional placement of a solid veneer. While bonding can greatly improve the appearance of the teeth, the resin is not as durable as veneers or natural enamel and is more prone to future cracking or chipping.Inlays and Onlays
When more than half of a tooth is damaged, your prosthodontist may need to replace the damaged structure with an inlay or onlay. Many times these are conservative alternatives to crowns and fillings. Inlays and onlays are often used to restore the front-most teeth after damage or decay. If the damage is minimal, inlays are appropriate. When the damage is more extensive (but not enough to warrant replacement with a crown) onlays are appropriate.
Inlays and onlays are made from porcelain, gold or composite resins that are bonded directly to the teeth. These materials are much stronger than traditional blended-metal fillings and can help prevent further decay or damage.

Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a highly effective means of gaining a brighter, more attractive smile. Custom made bleaching gel carriers are made to fit over the arch of teeth. Bleaching gel is placed within these carriers and the patient wears them all night. They are comfortable, safe, and effective. Typically, over a period of 1-3 weeks teeth will brighten measurably. We have been using this procedure for over 20 years. It is easy to tolerate and causes minimal sensitivity.© 2010 Michael J. Gibbons D.M.D. ● Contact Us ● Follow Us on Facebook
